Concerts for peace

They sang for peace

“Children are the voice of the World and the future and they write the script of the new Earth saga. There is as much courage in them as there is love in us, there is as much hope in them as there is prudence in us." Today, when the world is plunged into the turmoil of war and the Earth is at the gates of an international crisis, we need unity, brotherhood and hope for a better tomorrow more than ever. Thanks to singing children and young people from Poland and Ukraine, we witnessed such unity during a series of concerts under the slogan "Pastoral for Peace", where children sang for peace in the world. The inaugural concert took place on December 16 at the Polish Army Cathedral in Warsaw. Subsequent concerts took place in Italy: on December 29 in San Marino, on December 30 in La Varena, on December 31 in Assisi and on January 1 in the Vatican in St. Peter's Square, on the day of prayer for peace, before and after the Urbi et Orbi blessing of Pope Francis. The Sonus Innumerabiles choir operating at the Secondary School performed. Stanisław Staszic and the S3 Performing Arts Studio. The program included well-known and popular Christmas songs and the world premiere of "Pastorałka dla Peace", a piece composed especially for the event. The concerts, both in Poland and Italy, were met with a warm and cordial reception from the audience who joined in singing Christmas carols. Concerts in Italy were one of the elements of consolidating the image of Poland as a country with wide opportunities for cooperation. The Honorary Patron of the event was the Polish Tourist Organization, which actively supports activities for Polish tourism and thus the promotion of Poland in the world. POT agreed to support a series of concerts that promoted peace and unity in the world, while emphasizing the role of international cooperation to achieve this state. These are also goals that are an inherent feature of tourism, not only Polish tourism. "Pastorałka dla Pokoju" is an original musical project, based on original arrangements of Christmas carols from around the world, performed for the first time on the stage of the National Philharmonic. in Warsaw, in December 2022. The concerts were organized by the Saint Francis Trails Association, the Polish Media Association and the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce.
